Thank You To Our Staff

To our Residents, Family Members, and Staff:

Christopher Reeve (aka Superman) defined a hero as “an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles.” While we wish to assure that our communities continue to follow all of CDC guidelines, health department recommendations, and Executive Orders, we desire the focus of this letter to be our gratitude to our staff who remain consistent in their commitment to the care of residents, even when things around them seem to be continuously changing.

From our Administrators and leadership teams to our caregivers—they are the individuals on the frontlines, meeting our highest priority of caring for residents and providing them with a safe and healthy home every day. They are setting up calls and windows visits with families, helping residents write messages to their families, and going above and beyond to put a smile on our residents’ faces every day. As a letter from a family member stated, there is “a standard of care made real every hour of every day, in the countless acts of life-affirming help and kindness that showed each staff person’s compassion and humanity. This is demanding work, and those of you who devote yourselves to the aged and infirm are truly angels of mercy.”

On behalf of our residents, families, corporate team, and Baruch’s Board of Directors, we thank you for your perseverance, your dedication, and your courage through these challenging times. We join with Mayor Gary of Walker in saying, “You are taking care of the most vulnerable group in our community, both physically and mentally. . . you are in fact doing that job in line with what we imagine from mythical superhero’s. Common people doing uncommon things in a time of great duress.”

You are heroes; you are superheroes; you are angels of mercy. And again, we thank you.
